Arab American Heritage Month
A RICH CULTURE
Every April, we celebrate National Arab American Heritage Month, a time to honor and appreciate the rich culture and heritage of Arab Americans. This year's theme, "A Rich Culture," highlights the diverse and vibrant traditions of Arab Americans and their contributions to various fields, from the arts to the sciences to politics. Through their achievements and contributions, Arab Americans have enriched our nation's cultural fabric and helped build a more inclusive society. Celebrating this month helps us combat negative stereotypes and discrimination while promoting awareness and understanding of Arab American culture and experiences.
Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha
“The world shouldn’t be comprised of people in boxes. Minding their own business. It should be full of people raising their voices, using their power and presence, standing up for what’s right. Minding one another’s business. That’s the world I live in. And that’s the world I want to live in.”
Experiential Learning: The Power of Art
In celebration of National Arab American Heritage Month, officially proclaimed for the first time in 2021 by President Biden, Studio 5 proudly presents “Experiential Learning: The Power of Art.” Through art, this program will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Arab Americans. Our experienced facilitators will lead interactive discussions and activities, inviting participants to engage with Arab American art in a meaningful way. Together, we will explore how art can foster empathy, understanding, and appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.
